Junior Moises Ruiz Castro dives in for his event during the Timber Creek swim meet.

The swim team’s game against Timber Creek resulted  in a loss for UHS with a score of 115-31 for the boys team and 100-46 for the girls team.

The teams competed in a Medley Relay, Freestyle, Individual Medley, Butterfly, Breaststroke, Backstroke, and a Freestyle Relay.

The team has multiple athletes who are new to the sport so the coach is focusing on improving swimmers skills. “Coaching the swim team this year has been great! Everyone is motivated and wants to improve their technique. We have a lot of first time swimmers that joined the team this year and we have been focused on skill building and improving their times in different events. The team is quite young with only one senior on the team, so we expect to continue to build up the swimmers on the team next season,” said new Coach Ashley Steadman.

Their next meet will be against Lake Nona on Wednesday, September 27th.
