University’s Varsity Football team ended their season with an overall record of 2-8 for the 2025 school year, showing steady improvement compared to previous seasons. While the team faced challenges throughout the year, players continued to compete and gain experience against a tough schedule.
Despite the losses, the team maintained a motivated mindset throughout the season. “I thought the work ethic was good. They had to catch up from having several different coaches over the years, but they did everything I asked them to do. They had to play a tough schedule, but they grew a lot and got stronger as the year went on,” said Coach Carrington.
One of the biggest highlights of the season was winning the annual Boot Game against Colonial High, a rivalry matchup that energized the team and school community. “The coaches helped us prepare starting all the way back in summer and made sure we were ready for the season. Even during rough weeks, the faculty and staff supported us and stayed encouraging,” said senior Parker Northcott.
Preparation and consistency were also key focuses, with players beginning training in the summer and continuing to put in work throughout the season with support from coaches and faculty. “It was a close game and we had a great second half. Even though we ended up losing, the whole team stuck together and almost won,” said senior Anthony Rojas.
Despite the final record, the season highlighted the team’s resilience, growth and commitment to rebuilding. The team looks ahead with optimism and determination as they prepare for next fall.
