The Varsity Boys Basketball team delivered a huge win against Colonial High School, on January 23rd defeating them in an exciting match up. From the opening tip-off, the team set the tone with formidable defense and offense, quickly taking control of the game.
By halftime, UHS built a comfortable lead through aggressive rebounds, quick passing, and consistent scoring.“ We practiced very hard, ran plays, and had good teamwork,” said senior Krystian Hobbs. Colonial struggled to keep up as the defense forced turnovers and limited their scoring chances throughout the night.
In the second half, the team continued to dominate, bringing energy to both ends of the court. “I think that’s the best we played as a complete team in a minute so we went out there and executed,” said senior Antravius Neal. The 71-39 victory was a statement win and a proud moment for the players.
This win not only showed skill, but also demonstrated the team’s determination to beat their biggest rival. “The team has started to play with good chemistry, play together, and play as a team. The selfishness has gone down, and that’s why we’ve been rolling as of late,” said Coach Friday. The team now looks ahead with confidence as they continue their season.
