     Two University seniors have been named finalists of the National Merit Scholarship,  a prestigious  scholarship awarded to only 15,000 students nationally. 

   

IB senior Chelsea Van Horn is one of the finalists of the National Merit Scholarship. The National Merit Scholarship Program is a national academic competition for high school students to provide financial aid to attend college.  “I’m really proud of myself and excited to attend college with the help of this scholarship. I worked really hard for  the past four years, so I’m grateful that my time and energy has paid off,” said Van Horn.

   Van Horn is planning on attending the University Of Florida and has also earned the Benacquisto Scholarship which allows students to attend any state colleges in Florida.

   

 

 

 

Senior Grace Bingle, another finalist of the National Merit Scholarship, is planning to attend the University of Central Florida in fall to study nursing for her future career. the University of Central Florida in fall and studying nursing for her future career. “I feel very fortunate to receive the scholarship. I know it wouldn’t have been possible without all the great teachers I have had throughout all my years of school, without the help from school counselors and administrators, or without the love and support my family has given me,” said Bingle.
