Bowling Finishes Impressive Season

The Boys’ Bowling team came in second place for Districts, matching up against East River, Colonial, Timber Creek and West Orange. Overall the season ended with a 12-2 record. “This season has been pretty easy and we’ve been winning all our matches,” said junior Ethan Quintas.

The girls’ team came in third place in a 5-team match vs. East River, Colonial, Timber Creek and West Orange. The team finished first place against Lake Nona and Oak Ridge, they beat Freedom 1-0, and won first place against Boone and Astronaut. Their regular season ended with a regular season record of 9-5. “Compared to last year, the girls have improved so much this season with teamwork and passion for bowling. I hope we can accomplish winning districts and reaching states this year, as we were really close last year,” said senior Michelle Fajardo.

The season started with at new head coach, Coach Ed Lebeda, and Assistant Coach, Ron Green, who helped the teams achieve their impressive record. “Coach Lebeda has helped us out so much this season, he’s always been there for us, especially during the games so he’s been a huge help this season,” said senior Justyn Duran.

Coach Lebeda took over for Coach Duncan and was thrilled to be part of the team. “As a new coach for the bowling team it has been a pleasure to watch the energy that the players bring to game day each and every week and the players are doing what it takes to advance through districts,” said Lebeda.
