The football coach for this season is Jeremy Palmer, who comes from a Mississippi College, where he studied athletic training and finished his degree in Louisiana Tech University. This is his first year teaching at UHS as the weightlifting teacher. “The team is working on being able to make plays off of various situations. We practice everyday with the intent of getting better at doing our job on the field, this can range from basic fundamentals to team building. We want to be better on and off the court,” said Palmer.
Palmer worked as an ESE teacher for 15 years before coming to UHS. He believes that changing the subject he teaches is a great opportunity to work with more kids on campus. “I have alway wanted to be a coach and alway wanted to take the next step in all directions. I visited the campus in December 2023 for an interview and enjoyed the setup of campus and the atmosphere that is here in Cougar nation,” said Palmer.
