SGA was able to raise $2,300 for Crush Colonial week fundraiser while the Varsity Football Team secured The Boot for another year with a win of 26-18. The activity that helped raise the most money this year was the pie in the face.

Every year during Crush Colonial week the members SGA at University and at Colonial hold a fundraising competition to see who can raise the most money in the chosen charity. This year the charity that was chosen was the One Heart for Women and Children. This organization helps people in need of a home or with basic essential supplies like food, clothing, and even school supplies. “The charity that was picked last year supported breast cancer research, but this year we wanted to fight a local problem in Central Florida so that we can see the impact of choosing this charity with our own eyes, ” said SGA President Tina Doan.

The officers of SGA were given the task of choosing the organization. “SGA officers do extensive research to see what organization to do and the four of us tell the advisors which is best fitted for SGA to help with,” said SGA Vice-President Sophia Shelton.

The activities that are chosen to help with raising money were drenching the grenadier on Monday. Following that were the opportunities to pie an administrator in the face, saran wrap one to a pole, and face paint Mr Ott or any other volunteers for the event. “I really like pieing people and I was able to pie the teachers on Wednesday six times!  I’m able to have fun with this and be able to donate to charity so it was great that I am able to do this,” said senior Kamila Torres.
