On September 30th, 2022 Disney released a sequel to the Halloween classic Hocus Pocus.

Hocus Pocus 2 follows the story of Becca, a 16-year old high school student. Who on her birthday, is gifted a candle from magic shop owner Gilbert, after hearing the notorious story of the Sanderson sisters. Becca celebrates her birthday and Halloween every year doing a mock ritual with her friends. This year while chanting her mock ritual she magically lit the candle gifted to her. Somning the Sanderson sisters back to life. As the original story told it the sisters will have one night to absorb the soul of one child to be back from the dead for good. This Halloween the Sanderson sisters feel ambitious, in exchange for absorbing the souls of children the witches decide to perform a curse that will give them all power so they can break their curse and get revenge on all of Salem, while also attempting to get revenge on a sworn enemy all in the same night.

Becca the main protagonist throughout the story realizes she has developed powers on her 16th birthday. Becca and her friends Izzy and Cassie devise a plan to stop the Sanderson sisters. While finding their way through friendship, hardship, and stopping evil witches. Hocus Pocus 2 ties in perfectly with the Original 1993 film, even including clips and references from the original movie. Hocus Pocus 2 really shines light onto the original back story and how the Sanderson sisters became the witches they are.

Hocus Pocus 2 was filmed with a completely different cast than the original movie causing original unease from viewers. Although there being a completely different cast these actors did a phenomenal job embodying the original witches personality. Aside from the slight difference in appearance the actors were able to bring the magical world of Hocus Pocus alive. The acting, special effects, editing and overall presentation was nothing shy or the beloved original. Hocus Pocus 2 is a comedic watch for viewers of all ages, really empathizing with the power of teamwork and love. This movie is the perfect
