UHS Girls Tennis team currently holds a record of 25-23 and their last game was March 27th here at University High School against Wekiva High School with a final score of 6-1. Freshman Zena Bachrouche was selected as the Player of the Match for the team’s game on the 26th against Cypress Creek.
As they continue to sharpen their skills on the court, practicing both with the team and independently in order to target their problem areas. “We won a few matches and lost some but we’re growing as a team,” said junior Aysia Watkins. While the season comes to a close, the girls hope they finish strong. “This season is going well for the girls team but areas of improvement will always be serve and footwork,” said Coach Andrew Centoducati.
Their upcoming game will be April 3rd against East River at University High School. “I think I’ve grown in stepping out of my comfort zone and we all work together by supporting each other by cheering each other on during out games,” said junior Maya Vazquez.
