David Bailey is a highly skilled school basketball coach with over 400 career wins. Bailey spent five years at Orlando Lutheran, one year at Cypress Creek, seven years at Winter Park, and eight years at Timber Creek high school. He’s been at UHS for three years now and became our coach in 2020, and last year he led the team to a 22-6 record with a district title under his belt.
Bailey was a staff member at Winter Park when they won back-to-back state championships in 2010-2011, with Austin Rivers, who went on to play in the NBA. “It’s different because when I was growing up I used to watch the games he coached and see him on TV but now playing for him helped me understand why he is so successful,” said Kyle Bailey, Coach Bailey’s son.
Coach Bailey builds the team bond by hosting regular meetings, practices, and training sessions together. Bailey and the team work create new, unique plays to further their winning streak and make exceptional players even better through every learning experience.
