The film follows the tragic story of a police officer and his beloved dog caught in a bomb explosion. The silly nature of the movie was subtle, for instance when the cop and the dog had to be saved, it seemed that the only logical option was to fuse them together. The movie kept these scenes from feeling too forced or far-fetched and showcased the creativity of the writers as they can have fun with what they want to implement into the movie.
Dog Man, although clearly marketed as a children’s movie, managed to satisfy a wide range of viewers from adolescents to adults that are watching the movie as fans of the series. The humor that was presented throughout the movie masterfully appealed to the adult audience. Another strength of this movie had was a character that was easy to root for and eventually went to save the day against Petey the Cat.
