The Varsity boys basketball team currently holds a 8-5 record with their last game being against Boone. Their most notable wins are against Lake Brantley, Colonial, and Ocoee.
The team watched replays and recordings of past games to evaluate their performance , develop a strategy, and then introduce it into practice. “One thing we have this season is great size with 8 people that are 6’4 or taller. I’m not worried about the other schools but more worried about just becoming a better team,” said Varsity Coach David Bailey.
The team has worked tirelessly toward improvement and through this have found a style that best suits them and has led to their success. “I think our season has had its bumps, but overall I think it has gone well. My favorite games to play were the Ocoee and the first Colonial games because they were great hard-fought games that made us play together great as a team,” said senior Hudson Maurer.
The most challenging game that the basketball team has faced this season was the game against Edgewater due to the amount of talent and athleticism their opponents demonstrated on the court. “My favorite game was the first game against Colonial because I had a great game and it was a hard earned victory,” said senior Jalen Pringle.
