The Beta Club offers students a chance to earn volunteer hours while developing leadership skills and making a difference in their community. The main purpose of Beta Club is to encourage students to serve others, as well as to stay motivated and engaged in their schoolwork. “The main purpose of the club is to get service hours,” said Beta Club President Isabel Reymann. These hours can also help students when applying for scholarships.
One of the club’s activities is visiting the Ronald McDonald House, where members prepare meals for families in need. This is a chance for students to bond with one another and make lasting friendships while helping those who are going through tough times.
Students who participate in Beta Club for two years are eligible to receive a special honor cord, a symbol of their commitment to service and community involvement. However, to join the club, students must pay a $32 membership fee, which covers the cost of activities and events.
The Beta Club meets on the first Thursday of every month, but getting members to participate in every event can sometimes be a challenge. Despite this, the club provides a multitude of opportunities for students to grow, serve, and make a positive impact. By joining, students gain valuable experiences that help them in both high school and beyond.
