University High School’s JROTC held their annual inspection this past week. Students were evaluated based on categories of uniform, cadet behavior, and general knowledge. The inspector awarded them “exceeds expectations” in these areas, which is the highest possible ranking.
Results of the overall inspection included no negative findings or discrepancies. The unarmed drill platoon earned an “Outstanding,” while the armed drill platoon missed it by a single point. The Color Guard received a “Satisfactory” rating. Cadet grooming standards were the highest they have been all school year, with no violations found.
The inspector who assessed the group was retired Major Brett Hampton of USMC. “The Cadets of University High School MCJROTC conducted themselves in a professional manner and represented themselves very well. Phenomenal job,” said Hampton.
