The varsity boy basketball team currently holds a 13-3 record, with their most recent win being against East River 69-39. They also competed in the Metro Tournament where they earned a 3-0 record after beating Winter Park, East River and Archbishop McCarthy.
One of the key parts that works so well is the chemistry they have as a team on and off the court. This allows them to work well together and build off of one another’s strengths. “Despite the loss, the first Colonial game that was at home is my favorite game for sure. This game was the most packed I’ve ever seen at our gym and the atmosphere was unreal. I think if all goes well and we play as a team we can take down Dr. Phillips and play hard for our upcoming games. One of the ways we prepare for upcoming games is to watch films on our upcoming opponent and practice on what to do against them, “ said senior Ethan Adams.
As the regular season is coming to a close, the team is now preparing for Regional and Districts as their primary focus in practice. “We practice everyday with the goal of getting better everyday. There is no team that we are particularly worried about. However, this year’s District will be challenging and Regionals will be tough due to not knowing the other teams so well,” said varsity coach David Bailey.
