It was a beautiful day for a wedding, and all the tails were a-wag with excitement as the lunch time ceremony began. The doggy wedding occurred in the courtyard on November 28th during both lunches. With Oakley as the groom and Kahlua as the blushing bride, the wedding party barked with excitement as the two tied the knot.
Organized and officiated by Ms. Kim Acton, the goal was to create an activity that would allow all the vet students to participate in a fun event regardless of the class-level that they are currently enrolled in. “Our goal in the vet program is to have a quarterly activity that the students of vet assisting can engage in. We have done a halloween costume party, dog wedding for this quarter and plan to do a dog prom in the spring. These types of events will let people know about vet assisting and can prompt kids into wanting to join the program,” said Vet assisting teacher and pastor Ms. Acton.
This event was created as a cute and funny way to entertain the students who were involved and those who were there to watch. “Mrs Acton asked me if this was okay with me and I said yes. I got flowers for Kahlua and this was such cute experience,” said mother of the bride, Ms. Taylor Abbott
