Universal Studios is hosting their 32nd annual Halloween Horror Nights, this event will take place September 1st to November 4th and will host ten haunted houses and five scare zones, including the highly anticipated The Last of Us house.
Halloween Horror Nights is amazing every year but what makes this year so special is the introduction of The Last of Us video game adaptations to the screen that will be brought to life in the form of a haunted house this Halloween season. When you enter the house and approach the climax of the story, you’ll hear the Clickers, the terrifying monsters in The Last of Us universe. If you scream or make too much noise, the Clickers will find you.
The most terrifying house was Yeti Campground Kills, upon entering you are greeted with a hauntingly beautiful sight, a cabin with forest surrounding it. It was simply hypnotizing paired with the eerie music and sound effects. The atmosphere of the house was spectacular with the combination of costume and light design. I felt that the actors put their all into the scares and the whole house clearly had a lot of hard work and thought put into it.
I was most disappointed by the Chucky house. I was looking forward to this house because I was a big fan of the movies, but I was unfortunately let down. I found it difficult to take the Chucky costumes seriously and found myself laughing more than screaming. However, the set design as well as the acting was impressive and I still had a great time, despite hoping for a scarier experience.
Overall, I had such a fun time, going with a group of people or with a friend like I did always makes it more entertaining. The food design was spectacular and of course on theme, they had a little section for each respective house. The actual food wasn’t the best quality, but they were so visually appetizing it practically made up for it. Walking throughout the whole park, seeing all the scare actors, going on the rides, and watching the shows was just an exhilarating experience- I would definitely recommend it.
